CookFeed — Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

AI features and food safety

CookFeed uses AI to generate recipes, nutrition estimates, allergen warnings, and dietary adaptations. This output can be incomplete or wrong. Never rely on it for allergy, medical, or food-safety decisions. Always check ingredient labels yourself and consult a qualified professional about dietary or health needs.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CookFeed ("we", "us") covering the CookFeed mobile app and the CookFeed website at cookfeed.app (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

2. Who May Use CookFeed

You must be at least 13 years old to use CookFeed, or at least 16 if you are in the European Economic Area. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

You may browse as a guest, but some features require a registered account.

3. Your Account

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, comments, and other material you add to CookFeed ("Your Content").

By adding Your Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. If you mark a recipe public, this licence extends to showing it to other users, featuring it in the app, and generating share previews for it.

You confirm that you have the rights to the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights. Do not upload recipe text or photos copied from other people without permission.

This licence ends when you delete Your Content, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period, and for content others have already saved or shared within the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

6. AI Features, Nutrition and Allergens

CookFeed includes AI-powered features such as recipe generation, dish identification from photos, meal planning, translation, ingredient substitution, cost estimates, nutrition estimates, allergen detection, dietary adaptation, and batch cooking plans. These are produced by automated systems using Google Gemini.

AI output is an estimate and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for you. In particular:

Always verify AI output before you rely on it, and consult a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other professional about your health, allergies, or dietary needs. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on it.

AI features are subject to rate limits and usage limits, which we may change. We may also suspend AI access where we detect abuse.

7. Subscriptions, AI Credits and Billing

CookFeed offers an optional Premium subscription, and may offer AI credits. Prices, billing periods, and any free trial are shown in the app before you purchase.

8. Referral Program

Where the referral program is available, you can share your personal referral code with people who do not yet have a CookFeed account. Referral rewards are promotional AI credits granted by CookFeed as a thank you. They are not a discount on a purchase, not a substitute for one, have no cash value, and are not transferable.

9. Moderation, Suspension and Termination

We use automated moderation and human review on public content. We may review, edit visibility of, unpublish, feature, or remove content, and warn, suspend, or terminate accounts, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken or where necessary for user safety, legal compliance, or the integrity of the Service.

Where practical we will tell you why we acted, and you can contact us to dispute it. We may act without notice where the content or conduct is seriously harmful or unlawful.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

10. Our Intellectual Property

The CookFeed name, logo, app, website, design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties including Google Firebase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, Algolia, Zoho Mail, and Open Food Facts. Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and their own terms apply to their services.

Recipes may link to external websites. We do not control or endorse third-party sites and are not responsible for their content.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own backups using the export feature.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all statutory rights available to you under the law of your country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be heard by the courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws.
